#21
Where is this fantasy world that has no golddiggers, evil-doers and conivers in it.
When It's Convenient world must be in Orlando.

August, apologies for confusion, but as you see now there is a world of difference between the statements 'some girls are easy to rape' and 'some girls rape easy'.

I would never use the term 'some girls rape easy', because I don't speak like that. It sounds colloquial and rural to my ears, but I think the meaning was meant to be something like, "be sure you know and trust each other before you have sex, and use a condom."
(I may have given him slightly too much benefit of the doubt ...but I don't know what else he said to his son about girls.)
I'm pretty sure he didn't mean "if you look hard enough it's really easy to find a girl who you can rape that won't make too much of a fuss about it."

Shit, for all I know their family are a bunch of serial rapists and murderers, but I don't think that can be inferred from the title statement.

I agree, and I think it is why I typed what I did. I was in a hurry and the original quote is non-standard. Hurriedly typing, I just kicked out a readable sentence, without realizing that I created it in a way that muddied its meaning.

Fortunately some Republicans are experts on rape.

August,

I'm afraid I can't explain your desire to be enraged at anything that Republican politicians may say, regardless of the contextual environment in which those comments are made. You are normally a very thoughtful person who attempts to understand the topics from all sides.

I do not regard my role as an 'apologist' but as a 'contextual corrector' attempting to present 'the rest of the story', rather than those epic sound bites that our manipulative media feeds to the attention deficient population of our country. You may also note that I've provided this sort of 'service' in favor of Democratic politicians as well as Republican politicians, so you cannot properly claim a deep seated bias.

In the case of this particular tempest in a chamber pot, there is a specific difference between an unseasoned politician relating a cautionary tale from his childhood and that same politician calling a press conference and declaring that the repulsive crime of rape is a lie.

But your enthusiasm for being enraged, coupled with the media's enthusiam for out of context headline whoring, has made you a victim.

You are Paul Harvey now?
