ooma cs

in setting up a 2nd line just now, realized that ooma has also moved their cs to poor English speaking country. Hope the service remains strong.

do you really have to call CS or can you do it all online?

usually on line is fine, but for some reason it appeared they charged twice for the first year premier. so a person was a "better" idea.

Maybe you just had a poor quality connection.

Speedy,

Probably not. I've contacted Ooma about its service a couple of times in the last year or two and the reps were definitely from a country where English is not the primary language. The connection was fine but the combination of fast speech, poor enunciation and strong accents made the conversation very difficult. In the event I become an Ooma customer, I'd avoid calling the customer service and do my best to resolve issues via alternate means, i.e. email, online chatting, etc.

A pity. I noted that when I spoke to an oomanaut. Fortunately I've been exposed to a Subcontinental accent on a regular basis for decades, and even have a few words in Hindi up my sleeves to throw in.

At the same time some firms are rehoming customer service activities, or at least trying to make them fit the locality of the customer. I'm sure a customer calling from Mumbai would rather not talk to a good ol boy from Alamaba !

You called OOMA instead of asking us here? I feel betrayed.
