One SIM. Many options.

interesting, I thought a SIM is associated with one carrier but I see Apple found a way to allow one SIM to work on different carriers.

and why is Verizon not listed on that screenshot?

Apparently Big Red isn't "Participating"
Seems weird, but that is what it says.
Even odder, if you click on the supported LTE bands link, Verizon is listed there.

Participating U.S. and UK carriers: 3
AT&T

Sprint

T-Mobile

EE

Also says: 3. Participating carriers are subject to change.

If Apple had their way, there wouldn't be physical SIMs at all.

Verizon is just being Verizon.

You would think they would have learned from the first time they turned down Apple.

One of many reasons I'll never use Verizon again.

I like SIMs when I travel. Way cheaper than international carrier fees.

I think they will be on board with it, because on their website they have a banner ad announcing that the iPad Air 2 will be available soon, and I don't think they will be selling the WiFi version.

Surely you can still swap in a compatible SIM, no?

I don't know why swapping out a SIM is a big deal, but Apple seems to think it is. Any benefit to a programmable SIM.
