I'm buying a 512mb stick for my aging but still functional Clamshell 466. It has been running OS 10.3 without any problems. I'm hoping the extra 384mb will make some difference.
On eBay, the 512 mb PC100's can be had for ~$35-40, while the PC133's are $50-$60.
Does it make any real difference?
Thanks.

As long as it fits (ie. its not the 2" stick) either should work fine. I'm also looking for a 512 stick for my Clamshell iBook, but haven't seen prices that low.

Main thing you have to watch for with PC133 memory is whether it is PC66 compatible. Most PC100 RAM was made to be usable in PC66, the same does not hold for PC133.

wrong, wrong, wrong
PC133 memory will work if it's programmed to run at slower speeds as well. If it is not, it will not work. Also, it has to fit.

will the clamshell use high density memory sticks? No one has mentioned it. That should be the focus of your concern.
