2 TB? you have too much stuff... =)

Just dump the optical drive and toss in a spinny 2TB drive. Carry a portable DVD drive for the one time every 3 years you might need one. (i think its been 4+ years since I used one? longer?)

Generally, prices on 2.5" SSDs (and maybe others) started climbing around the holidays, due to component price increases. i think it's the transition to 3D NAND, but don't quote me on that.

So, yeah, the prices have gone up significantly. Not sure about NVME, etc.

Bought from OWC even though I could've saved a few bucks elsewhere.

$80 for 240 GB is the going rate. and OWC ++. Doubt if you could have saved more than $5. maybe $8-10 if shopped hard.

Samsung Evos are $100.
