Bannon told to Cease and Desist
#1
Trumps lawyers have issued a cease-and-desist order to Bannon.

His lawyers said Mr Bannon had broken his employment agreement by speaking to Wolff about Mr Trump and his family, "disclosing confidential information" and "making disparaging statements and in some cases outright defamatory statements to Mr Wolff about Mr Trump, his family members, and the Company", the letter said.

I doubt it will make any difference. Being an elected public official essentially means open season on commentary. It is almost impossible to quiet a critic of the president. You can even make openly false claims like the president being born in Kenya.

However, some news sources like WaPo are urging restraint in believing Wolff. It referred to the author as a "provocateur and media polemicist", and said his reporting had been questioned before. I wonder if the Trumpeteers will refer to that report as Fake News?

They claim he's lying so he can't be disclosing anything.

More kabuki theater.

As the wise philosopher Bob Seger wrote, “I used her, she used me, but neither one cared. We were gettin’ our share.”

They can't possibly hold up in court in this case. They'd have to be nuts to think otherwise. Oh, wait.....

If you think about it, this whole dispute doesn't mean anything. There are no consequences from the air blasts of statements.
It's the Evil Baboon vs the Lyin' King. Meaningless.

It will never get close to court. There is no way Trump's lawyers would actually follow through on this because the first thing Bannon's lawyers would do is make Trump, Don Jr., J. Kushner and Ivanka go through depositions and they sure as heck would not want to do that.

Case in point:

“The president is a great man,” Steve Bannon [on Brietbart] said after President Trump's blistering statement. “You know I support him day in and day out.”

Who gives a fuck what either of these losers say? Report what they DO, not what they SAY.

Filing this order is essentially confirmation that it is all true.

As Ted said, going to court and having depositions would be even more of a disaster.
