Need to paint the bus
#1
I confirmed the rumors with a state trooper last night. At least 51% of the bus needs to be a different color from the nationally registered "School Bus Yellow." So, I've got a little over 48 hours to paint the bus, and it's raining today. Tomorrow looks clear, so my question is, what's the best paint? We've decided on a gray color, and there's no time to sand. I was thinking of just getting a 5gal bucket of rust-olem, or some other type of exterior enamel paint and slap it on with rollers and brushes. It's going to get a good power-washing today in the driveway.

Why not just do a temporary "camouflage"

Go to Big Lots or other discount place and buy a few rolls of different colored duck/duct tape.
The Big Lots near me has red, blue. green and other assorted colors in 2" tape for about $5 a roll.

Just do a bunch of random stripes over the sides at various angles - like an 80's laser effect
You could even have laser reflections - have a line hit a spot and refract back a bunch of different directions.

You mainly need to cover the sides and over any ID graphics / numbers / etc...

Quick and easy to get you through the weekend and until you can paint it correctly

We've chosen gray so it will be easy to paint over again in the future. I didn't even think about duct tape! That would be awesome!

Wouldnt duct tape be hard to remove later?

Your Rustoleum idea is a good one and should last until you can bring it to MAACO. Just clean and dry before applying.

Earl Scheib ? Get a few of the "Bachelors" to help you paint the "Bachelorette Bus" in some empty warehouse someplace. The resultant art might prove a nice moving canvas of hormonal testimonials to mating and marriage.
