Sitting here at Fuddruckers burgers, wondering if when u go to Hawaii the iPhone will work with no extra roaming charges? Where is that AT&T map?

Now that that's solved, figure this one out:
Why are there interstate highways in Hawaii?

That's easy. In order to qualify for federal funding to build an interstate highway, it must begin and end at a military installation. So I-1 links the main bases on Oahu. The senator from Hawaii at the time had major influence, and got an exception made just for his constituents.
Interstate highways are not for our convenience, they are to be able to move military materiel.

I-4 in Florida goes from Daytona Beach to Tampa. There is MacDill AFB in Tampa, but it's several miles from where I-4 ends. And there is no military base in Daytona Beach.
