Went to the hilt on the capacity, because I may be owning this one for a while...
And then after contract expires, can still be used as iPod Touch, right?

Me too! Got the black 16gb. When Verizon finally got the iphone I was not eligible to upgrade. Now I can but it'll cost me $20. Oh well. I have waited long enough!!
