Some said RAM is soldered on, someone else said SSD is not an option except at time of purchase ... Can you add an SSD later or not?
Is anything user upgradeable in the new Minis

All conjecture till someone gets one.

I've read the 2014 mini has PCIe SSD storage, so while that is theoretically possible to upgrade, no one makes cards for it (yet). Same goes for the recent Airs and Retina MBP's.
Presumably, you could replace the regular hard drive with a 2.5" SSD though.

Transcend Jetdrive for MBA and MBP: http://www.transcend-info.com/apple/jetdrive/ Someone else makes one too.
Probably works in the new mini. Not a promise!

In that case, there might be a mount and a SATA port that can be used if you want to add a hard drive. Some iMacs had that config... others were made without the mounting posts and with only a painted spot on the mobo to indicate where the SATA port would go. Just speculation until someone cracks one open.

Those few who want to upgrade internal storage will be out of luck at some level, depending on their preference.
But using external storage will still be the choice of most, anyway.

Isn't Apple using the new M.2 standard for SSDs?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.2 Maybe OWC Larry can clarify.

Stop harshing on Apple, the whole darn thing is user replaceable. Just swap in a new model when you get tired of the old model.
Thanks, I'll be here all week.
