My son is applying for a paid internship in germany. As he was working on the email with his attachments he hit something and the email sent but the message he was typing was incomplete. He has since sent the email again with the attachments and the complete message typed in but is there a way to spin this in his favor. The irony is that the position is for someone with excellent communication and social media skills in addition to the language skills. TIA

A good method for the future when working on long important email messages is to leave the "To:" field empty until just before you're sure you want to sent it.

he was typing and hit the tab button followed by the enter button.
Hitting tab sent the cursor to the send button and hitting enter clicked the send button

Always good to start off an employment relationship with a fib. Jawohl!

Would he really want to work for a company that is so uptight, that this would be an issue??? Then again, it IS Germany...

He should just tell them he was so wasted on Jaegermeister when he sent the email that he couldn't have found his own ass with a compass. If he's gonna fib, go big!

I recommend he tell them the truth - he accidentally clicked the send button before he had completed the email. My hunch is virtually all of us have done the same at least once.
When you tell the truth you only have to remember what actually happened rather than what you told somebody about what happened.
