Predict Mac mini Core 2 Duo
#1
Out of extreme curiousity mixed in with procrastination, does anyone care to speculate when Apple might be introducing Core 2 Duo minis?

I don't know but it's taking way too long. This is the desktop Mac that switchers gravitate to and yet it uses yesterday's technology. Our office needs a new Mac for the interns yet I won't purchase one until Apple upgrades the mini.

On the same token, though, this is supposed to be the bare-bones low-cost entry point. Older chip = lower cost.

Apple really should address this drooling with envy issue.
:-)

Seriously.
I want one, too.

what billb said.

Hopefully, a C2D and better graphics. I'd settle for a combo drive as I prefer FW burners!

On the same token, since it uses an older chip why don't they lower the price? I know these
older chips fall in price all the time. I think they should be selling the lower Mini for about
$400-450. Hard drive, optical drive and ram prices are also way down.

Maybe the mini isn't selling well and they have a large inventory to clear before changing over to the C2D.
