Heavy fog and weather are hampering anyone from reaching the area. However, helicopters and mountainous terrains are not a good a mix.

Will change nothing. Hard-liners firmly entrenched.

BBC isn't clear on this, but al Jazeera says the president and foreign minister were both aboard the missing chopper.

BBC is pretty clear
A helicopter in a convoy carrying Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has been involved in an accident, state media reports

There were 3 helicopters in the "convoy," two landed safely. Was the president on one of those two?
It doesn't say. Maybe it's just bad writing, or they didn't have confirmation Anyway... "The full list of crew on the crashed helicopter of Iranian President Raisi: 1. Iran's President, Ibrahim Raisi 2. Iran's Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahiyan 3. Ayatollah Al-Hashemi, Imam of Tabriz Mosque 4. Governor of East Azerbaijan Province, Malik Rahmati"

Not much love lost for this guy, unless you like a guy who has his critics killed, but I sincerely hope this was a tragic accident and not terror. Because the latter could lead to escalated violence.
