There were 3 helicopters in the "convoy," two landed safely. Was the president on one of those two?
It doesn't say. Maybe it's just bad writing, or they didn't have confirmation

Yeah, if Ali Khamenei died, that would be a bigger deal but even then they'd just quickly elevate someone else to Supreme Leader that would be pretty much the same kind of hardliner.
