5 gigs a month

Looking at cellular data plans to use as primary internet access.
Is there any way to know how much bandwidth I use now?
Most plans start to charge after 5 gigs.
Is that plenty?

That depends entirely on what you do ...

Are you planning to check email every couple of days or are you planning on downloading tons of movies?

Sprint data services are unlimited (well, if you choose the unlimited plan - used to be they had a per data plan at a rate and the unlimited plan was only $10 more).

Depends on the bandwidth too.

It might be impossible to exceed it, if it is only 256kbit.

OK... not impossible, but you know what I mean. Let's just say, you
won't be renting iTMS movies at that speed...

5 gigs seems like an insanely huge amount for cell phone data.

I have the unlimited with Sprint, so I've never paid attention to it, but I don't know how you'd go that high....

But do you use your cell phone data plan as your primary internet access?

I'm thinking michael_s is wanting to hook his computer through the cell phone data network.
