Ok...you talked me into it...I'll give it a try...first time for a Fry's related rebate in quite a few years...I'm still waiting for around $15 they owe me for a flash card reader and a power strip...
I bought this same RAM around the end of August when it was $10 more than it is today, and mailed the $40 rebate on Sept 2nd. This thread got me curious so I checked the rebate status online, and it says that the $40 check was mailed Oct 2nd, so I might see it in today's mail. This is even faster turnaround than the other two Crucial rebates that I filed this past year.
I always laser-print a letter that I enclose with the rebates that includes my Name/Address/etc that they ask for on the rebate form, in case they can't read that tiny hand written rebate form. I also write UPC in big letters with an arrow pointing to where I taped the UPC code to the form. And I make copies of everything that I mail.
In my opinion the biggest cause of rebate problems are data entry errors (and not some conspiracy), so if you make it as easy as possible for them to enter the correct info, it improves the chances of things going smoothly. Online rebate submission eliminates this problem too (unless you make a typo).
Years ago there was one rebate that I had to call on a few times because I never got the check but their records showed that they mailed it. After they sent a new check twice that I never received, I finally went through all of the contact info with them and we discovered that they had a typo in my zipcode and each time the check was being returned to them by the post office.
