I guess I was so shocked at the $249 price for information that I forgot that it was under warranty and that I do have phone in support. But they should have known that since iPhones have been out less than a year.

Daughter dropped by one of the Austin stores today and they told me that they would not do a case replacement but would do an exchange for $249 - coincidentally the same price as they wanted for the estimate.

Dont tell what to do ie swap the case,
Ask them to fix the iPhone.
Let them "figure" how...
